Founding Headmistress

Wycombe Abbey Cairo East, situated in the prestigious Diplomatic District of the New Administrative Capital, is dedicated to providing a world-class education to both international and national communities in Cairo and its surroundings.

Our expansive 58,000 sqm campus, developed by ACUD, boasts state-of-the-art facilities designed to meet every educational need. These include specialised classrooms, cutting-edge laboratories, comprehensive indoor and outdoor sports facilities, a swimming pool, a gymnasium, football and multi-purpose sports pitches, as well as dedicated art and music studios.

As a co-educational institution, we cater to students from Early Years Foundation Stage 1 (EYFS 1) through Year 8, with plans to expand to a comprehensive curriculum up to Year 12 in the near future. Our commitment is to guide children through each educational phase, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive as they transition to leading universities worldwide. We aim to nurture their full potential and prepare them for the next chapter of their academic journeys.

Our History

Since its establishment by Dame Frances Dove in 1896 in the UK, Wycombe Abbey (wycombeabbey.com) has earned a reputation for academic excellence and has helped its pupils secure a place in the world’s leading universities. In the last ten years, the school has been named Independent School of the Year twice by The Sunday Times in its annual review of the independent school sector in the UK.

With the opening of Wycombe Abbey Cairo East, we extend this legacy to Egypt and are committed to upholding the same standards of excellence and delivering a transformational educational experience.

Vision:

To be a beacon of educational excellence in Egypt and the Middle East, seamlessly integrating global standards with local culture to nurture future leaders who are both intellectually and ethically equipped to make a difference.

Mission:

To empower every pupil to pursue ambitious goals while embracing their unique cultural heritage, fostering a sense of responsibility and service to their community and the world.

Our Ethos

Wycombe Abbey Cairo East cultivates a culture of excellence within a nurturing and diverse community. Our school provides an enriching experience that allows pupils to develop academically, personally, and ethically. Trust, encouragement, and mutual respect—core values championed by our founder—are integral to our ethos. Through these values, we create a sense of belonging that resonates with local culture. We believe that Wycombe Abbey Cairo East pupils will emerge as visionary leaders who will shape the future through lives dedicated to responsibility and service.

Message from the Chairman of Wycombe Abbey International

Wycombe Abbey’s international strategy is to develop a global family of Word Class schools, which enables us to bring the Wycombe Abbey education to a global audience. Based on the success we have had internationally in China, we are excited to establish a partnership with WMC Education Foundation and the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) to bring Wycombe Abbey education to Egypt, especially in a prime location in the Diplomatic District of the New Capital City.
Ensuring that our International Schools deliver a high quality holistic education experience with superb academic outcomes and pastoral care is paramount and we will ensure this continues at Wycombe Abbey School Cairo East through close monitoring by the Wycombe Abbey International Board.
We look forward to building on the establishment of our successful schools in China, and to bringing the values and educational philosophy of Wycombe Abbey (UK) to our first school in Egypt.
